Verbal Vomit
Back again, mainly because I’m bored and second because I actually have stuff to blog about. First off, I finished Biohell. it was very close to what the title claims, a hell. Good Characters, specially Franco Haggis. While his companion Keenan is an emo that can’t get over the fact that his family is gone because his psycho ex girlfriend killed them, Franco is the man that lives the moment. As stated by both characters:
“Franco, you’d find happiness in cancer,joy in a brain hemorrage,ecstacy in instant death”_Keenan

to top it off, IS A LIE. Is not about zombies, is about mutants that for some/ or no reason whatsoever eat brains. Disappointed totally disappointed.

On the other hand it didn’t took long before I started to look for another book. I have a habit of reading before falling asleep, so reading the same mangas over and over got tiresome. Some random day I went to plaza with a pair of friends….to read mangas (I was hooked up with a series).We ran into some other friends on the way so somehow we ended up sitting on the “study of the occult and spiritual thingy” section. I grabbed a book I forget about what, but then technically threw it away when one of my friends handed me what would become my most reliable book about zombies so far.
“REAL ZOMBIES,THE LIVING DEAD,AND CREATURES OF THE APOCALYPSE” by Brad Steiger. First off, if you are a person that doesn’t believe in supernatural stuff don’t waste your time. This ain’t about flesh, brain eating mindless people, aka: Hollywood zombie, or video games zombies, which the term “mutation” I would consider more accurate. The book deals with the very depths of Voodoo and conspirator theories, bringing us cases about real encounters and lead to how close we could be from a zombie apocalypse.
Contrary on where some internet searches may lead to, the first real cases of a zombie being ain’t the one of Clairvius Narcisse at Haiti.
As perhaps some of you might have heard, one of the many versions of how to become a zombie leads to the beliefs of Voodoo.But Haitian Voodoo came from Africa obviously,thus there is where everything began so to speak. However, the place where the author centers his data base from is no other than old New Orleans. Why? it all sums to a name: Marie Laveau. The most famous Voodoo queen was born there.Therefore there’s a lot of material to work with.
As the title suggests other creatures are mentioned through the book such as golems,wendigos,darklings and Tulpas. They also contrast zombies against vampires and mummies.
As the time period changes through the book we run into conspiracy theories involving the Nazi and the CIA in order to make a zombie nation.The book ends explaining what is an Apocalypse and how the term has been given a new meaning that it’s original one.
Contrary on Biohell by Andy Remic I did found useful information to use on my comic on Steiger’s work.(mostly because Remic’s was a novel and wasn’t inclined to inform to begin with).

As a devoted Cafekko I have been tracking down the actions of An Cafe members since the hiatus. For those of you that still don’t know, Miku (vocalist) has a new bands Named Lc5. Their debut was on June 6 >w< and their official debut was around a week back or so. The people that attended to the presentation said that they had a huge variety from ballads to rock.The same day of the mini-concert they released a ringtone so the fans could buy named “love crash”. Their first single is named Loveless is about a girl with a broken heart, and is going to be out on Sept. 15.
Meanwhile Kanon (Bass) has been very busy promoting his cellphone video game Pinky Distortion around anime conventions. Teruki (Drummer) had been playing with some other bands, technically official with one named DOG. He’s trying his best to keep all cafekkos informed, since he’s being as about Takuya (Guitarist) and Yuuki (Keyboard) a lot lately. Takuya is doing fine, resting (as they should be doing >.<) while Yuuki has been here and there. For example a few months ago he played with DACCO. If Miku is still at his Karate class, and Teruki at his drumming classes I still have to find out.

- I learned that Drowning Pool are the guys that sing “let the bodies hit the floor” I got happy since I love “Sinner” a lot.

I’m READING, I’m actually back into reading something that I’m actually interested in, and not some bullsh-t related to college. It’s a book named Biohell by Andy Remic. If anyone that enjoys reading is…reading this here goes the sypnosis, just in case:
